  Community Academy’s Cultura Chicana Club celebrated at the Logan Heights Library during the Lowriders Commemorative Forever Stamp First Day of Issue Dedication ceremony! Students showcased their remote control lowrider cars that they customized to hop, drop, and cruise—demonstrating skills in electronics, mechanics, and design through S.T.E.A.M. integration.

  On November 18, 2025, King-Chavez Community High School proudly presented a case for a five-year charter renewal to the San Diego Unified Board of Education. The renewal process looks closely at academic performance, organizational health, and the overall impact of the school, and we were honored to have two incredible KC alumni share their stories. Ashley Mendiola (Class of 2020, UC Berkeley graduate) and Linzy Clara (Class of 2023, Southwestern & SDSU graduate and current King-Chavez elementary teacher) took to the podium to speak about how their KC experience shaped their paths and contributed to the success they enjoy today. We are so grateful for their voices and continued commitment to our community!

  School spirit was in full swing at the KCCHS Pep Rally! Students cheered each other on with a mummy-wrapping race, volleyball, and tug-of-war, and even competed in a few students vs staff games. Complete with a BBQ lunch, it felt like one big family reunion.
