From the Classroom to City Hall: KCCHS Students Drive Real Change

Big congrats to our KCCHS Civic Engagement Group! After last year’s success protecting city funding for libraries and parks, our students once again took to the San Diego City Council Chambers—this time to support the Due Process & Safety Ordinance, which strengthens constitutional protections, promotes accountability and dignity, and requires federal agents to obtain a warrant before entering city property or accessing information.

Their powerful testimonies made an impact—the Council voted unanimously to pass it! We’re beyond proud of our students’ leadership and courage, and grateful to Alumni Ashley & Mari Mendiola for leading the group and inspiring the next generation of changemakers!
