Hosted by the San Diego County Office of Education, the Symposium provides an opportunity to spotlight educational leaders who are making a difference for students through demonstrated excellence in promoting biliteracy.

Ms. Gallegos was recognized as a "Champion of Biliteracy" because of her dedication and impact on the King-Chavez Dual Language Immersion program over the past six years. She has played a key role in planning and implementing the program, ensuring its success through her expertise and commitment. As an outstanding 1st Grade Teacher, she consistently achieves high academic results while fostering a love for bilingualism in her students. Beyond the classroom, she is a collaborative leader and a mentor to new teachers, always willing to share her knowledge and support their growth. Her positive attitude and unwavering dedication elevate the status of Spanish within our school community, reinforcing the importance of biliteracy for all students.
